    Inklings books

I was wondering out of all the books about the inklings out there, which one is the most accurate and informative? Which one would you say is the best, a must read?

I'm far from up to date on this, but in the first instance I still go for Carpenter. Also Glyer, though I don't buy her idea of the Inklings as a coherent writers' group.

I have to second Dorwiniondil, I think - Glyer's 'The Company they keep' and it's more 'popular' reworking, 'Bandersnatch' have some good things in them, but I'd always turn to Carpenter first.

I got my copy of Carpenter's 'The Inklings' in the mail today. I have just read the first three chapters and I love it. It's so detailed and accurate. I had heard about chapter three: Mythopoeia and was so keen to finally read it. I'm really feeling inspired for writing more of my Tolkien story. Thanks again guys for the advice.
